Milan from the water
Tour starts at 10.00 h
Tour ends at 15.00 h
Duration: 5 hours
Unless otherwise instructed by parents, children will be collected from and taken back to the hotel or apartment.
With this tour we give children the opportunity to see Milan from a different perspective... from the Naviglio canal.
We will navigate the same canals used by boats to deliver all sorts of goods to the old city of Milan.
We start off from Alzaia Naviglio Grande and after just a few metres we will see Vicolo dei Lavandai, one of the many washhouses where for centuries women washed the clothes of the people of Milan.
Continuing along the canal, we will see Palazzo Galloni, which hosts the Incision Centre. After that, we will reach one of the most significant parts of the canal, where the Church, the Bridge and the Washhouse of San Cristoforo are located. The church of San Cristoforo is where duchesses, kings and emperors set off to enter Milan via water.
After passing the church, the boat will turn back towards Vicolo dei Lavandai, passing underneath the bridge known as ‘Scodellino’ (soup bowl), because of the many taverns in the area, and enter the Darsena, once a key port for trade with Lake Maggiore, thanks to 1000 metres of barge mooring space, which made it one of the largest internal ports in the Mediterranean.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a typical Milanese restaurant overlooking the Naviglio. Fancy trying some local dishes and ending your meal with a nice slice of Panettone?
But now it’s time to have fun! Let’s go to one of the largest flying carpet gyms in Italy.
The price includes entry to the Castle and the laser game or climbing challenge.
Public transport, lunch, souvenirs and taxies are not included.
We recommend wearing sporty clothes and a hat during hot sunny days.
During the day you will receive updates via sms and pictures of our adventures!
Please let us know before the start of the tour if your children have any allergies or are intolerant to any foods.
ALL TOURS CAN BE PERSONALISED TO MEET THE PREFERENCES AND ATTITUDES OF YOUR CHILDREN.
